Abstract

The rise of e-nurseries has transformed the way urban gardeners and home planting enthusiasts access plants, gardening tools, and resources. This paper explores the impact of e-nurseries on urban gardening, highlighting their role in making gardening more accessible and efficient for city dwellers. E-nurseries have bridged the gap between consumers and plant suppliers by offering a convenient online platform where a wide variety of plants, from native species to exotic varieties, can be purchased and delivered directly to consumers' doorsteps. In urban environments, where space and time are often limited, e-nurseries provide tailored solutions such as compact plant varieties, advice on indoor gardening, and resources for maximizing small spaces. This shift towards digital plant shopping is also fostering greater awareness of sustainable gardening practices, allowing urban residents to engage with environmentally conscious horticultural practices. The paper also examines how e-nurseries have democratized plant ownership, empowering individuals to create greener, healthier living spaces. Additionally, the integration of technological advancements such as augmented reality (AR) for plant visualization and AI for personalized plant care recommendations is further enhancing the urban gardening experience. By analyzing the evolution of e- nurseries in the context of urban gardening trends, this paper aims to provide insight into how digital platforms are reshaping the way urban populations interact with nature, foster well-being, and contribute to the development of greener, more sustainable cities.
